BTCPOP.co – Bitcoin Peer to Peer Lending
Banking the Unbanked?
If Bitcoin is equivalent to peer to peer cash, and if Bitcoin’s objective is to replace the banks, then it would follow that Bitcoin should also be used as a vehicle to take out a loan. BTCPop is one among many platforms that’s trying to do this and replace the banks.
In Satoshi Nakamoto’s original bitcoin code, line 1456 (The Genesis block) states,
// Genesis block
char* pszTimestamp = "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks";
This references the climax of the 2008 financial crisis where the ultimate culprit is the greed of the banking system, the fractional reserve system, the massive centralization that allowed it to happen and the government that seems to be helpless to prevent things like this from happening.
Bitcoin was founded as a revolution against this financial system.
Could BTCPop succeed where some like itself have failed before it?
This course will do a basic run over of the following:
- What BTCPop offers
- Differentiating between fiat lending and bitcoin
- Important reminders for borrowers and lenders
- How to invest in Instant Account and Savings Pool
- How to Invest in a Personal Loan
- How to Maximize Your Lending Portfolio on BTCPop
- How to Track Your Investments via ‘Payments In’
At the end of this course, it is expected that the student could evaluate whether BTCPop is a viable project that’s worth looking into. It should also familiarize the student to be aware of the risks and benefits involved in participating on the platform.
The course focuses specifically on the lending aspect as BTCPop is better known for this. Moreover, this is the aspect that we have experience with. There are many more like bonds, vouchers, IPOs and the exchange, but we feel that those are not necessarily the main service of the website.
Disclaimer: This course should not be taken as investment or financial advice. We recommend that you observe the website on your own and to do your own due diligence. Do your own research. Never invest more than you can lose.
